Denver Photoblogging Returns

I'm excited about this project. This was the old 'Security Life' building. It was Denver's first 'skyscraper', built in the 60's. In the late 80's, it became dormant, but luckily, developers saw the potential in the building.
Thanks to the fact that there is an influx of people moving in to Downtown Denver, they decided to convert this old office building, in to rental apartments. What is interesting about this building, is it smack dab in the center of the 16th Street Mall nexus that is the Pavillions, which this building helps reinforce that this is the 'Times Square' location of Denver.
Back when I was a kid, there used to be a restaurant on the top floor called 'Top Of The Rockies', that had killer views, and an amazing Sunday brunch. What was also cool was that the protrusion seen in these photos, where the '1600' is located, was a glass elevator, exposed on two sides, that made you feel like you were flying in th sky. It was a cool, low-tech, thrill ride of its time.
Side note: I am especially thrilled of the fact that they have incorporated creative exterior lighting design, to enhance the exterior.
