I fell out of a moving car once.

When I was a kid. I was playing with the door handle, and the door flew open. Since this was back in the day when no one wore seatbelts, when I went to try and retrieve the door to close it, I tumbled out.

Luckily, I cleared the rear wheel, which is why I can post about it today.

Back then, we were bad ass kids. No sissy-car seats, for us. And our playground equipment was made out of steel, and planted firmly in to hard, abrasive concrete, that would sit out in the sun baking all day, so that when you went to slide down the slide, you got a first degree burn, if you were wearing shorts. And monkey bars that became a slippery death trap, if you happened to fall.

Kids today are wussies.

17-year-old girl falls from moving mini-van

LAFAYETTE - A 17-year-old girl fell from a moving mini-van prompting a call for flight-for-life Saturday afternoon, police said.

The incident occurred near the intersection of 95th Street and Arapahoe Road, police said.

The girl, whose name was not released, was riding in a mini-van driven by her mother when she fell out, police said.

The mother, whose name was also not released, made a u-turn after the girl fell out and returned to the scene, police said.

The girl was flown via helicopter to a Denver-area hospital for treatment, according to Lafayette Police Department Sgt. Scott Emerson.

The condition of the girl has not been released.
