Huh.

When I worked at Neiman's, we had to leave all of our personal belongings in lockers.

Thieves stealing mall employees' wallets

'BROOMFIELD - Police are asking for the public's help identifying three women. The thieves stole two wallets out of employee's purses at FlatIron Crossing Mall in Broomfield.

While one of the women distracts the clerk, another suspect will go behind the counter or into a back office area and take the employee's wallet. Broomfield Police say the women have also had a little girl with them who is around 6 years old, and have used this child as part of their ploy to distract the clerks.

After stealing the wallets, the thieves immediately go to neighboring communities and charge thousands of dollars to the credit cards taken from the stolen wallets.

It happened to Rachel Jensen on January 23. That Tuesday morning, she was working at Icing by Claire's, a young women's retail shop at FlatIron.

Jensen says the women charged more than $600 on her cards later that day at another shopping center.

"I didn't realize anything was going on because I didn't even know until I realized they had stolen my wallet," said Jensen.

FlatIron's manager says it's an old trick.

"They act nice and pleasant and seem honorable, it's done everywhere, they get what they want and leave," said Hugh Crawford, property manager for FlatIron Crossing.

Broomfield Police traced the thefts to two stores at the mall when the stolen credit cards were used the same day of the incidents.

A similar scenario happened at Colorado Mills Mall last Saturday. Employees say the cash register at one store was cleaned out.

Aurora Police are trying to determine if the different people from the same group have targeted mall stores in their city as well.

Police in Broomfield are reviewing surveillance video. They also released photos of the women they think are responsible for the incidents at FlatIron Crossing in late January.'
