Man arrested for strangling dog
'ARAPAHOE COUNTY – Police say a 41-year-old man was arrested after admitting to choking his dog with its leash until it died on Tuesday.
Police say Robert McDuff told them his 1-year-old Boxer named Dempsey bit him on the right hand.
McDuff told police he strangled Dempsey with its leash. Authorities say they found the dog's body in a plastic bag in the garage at McDuff’s residence.
McDuff was placed in custody at the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office Detentions Facility and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals – a felony.
McDuff is being held on a $50,000 bond.'
