Season wraps Sunday at A-Basin

'Dillon - Arapahoe Basin ski area is set to close for the short summer at the end of the day on Sunday, ending the longest ski season in the state.

The ski area, which became the earliest in the nation to open last Oct. 13, has offered a total of 234 ski days and still has ample top-to-bottom snow coverage.

"It's time. We have things to do this summer," said ski-area spokeswoman Leigh Hierholzer, alluding to a big terrain expansion slated for Montezuma Bowl. "It was a great season. It was a very successful season." '
