what the '^' on the keyboard on the 6 key is for?

When you are redoing a dial up modem string to connect to the internet you have to use the ^ (carat) in the string for it to work.

Yeah, I'm that nerdy.

It's the two dots above random vowels in Motley Crue's name. Also, Germans use it. The umlaut that is, not the carat.
