The Belvedere

This is 'The Belvedere'. It is one of three projects by a firm in the Triangle.

Like 'The Argyle' and 'The Beauvallon', they attempted to make a contemporary version of the 'Beaux Arts' style.

'The Argyle' is the second best attempt at this aesthetic. It has more detail than 'The Argyle', but still is ruined by the lack of detail around the windows. I think the architect should have extended the sill and tab further to make it more pronounced.

One thing I do like about this one is the wrought iron gates they have at the main 'faux' entrance, and the Elephant supports for its canopy.

Are those the places across the street from Dazzle? I think they're pretty nice places...but sadly they were put up after I fled to the burbs.

Naw, the ones by Dazzle are 'The Beauvallon'. I am going to rant on that one soon. The Belvedere is close to Speer.
