It's ridiculous

There is only one place currently where you can get a driver's license. The DMV sucks hardcore.

More drivers' license bureaus?

DENVER (AP) -- The state Senate has approved a plan requiring the Department of Motor Vehicles to spend more money to open more driver's license bureaus.

The vote came as senators gave initial approval to next year's proposed $16.5 billion budget, six percent more than this year.

The proposal would require the DMV to spend five percent of its budget -- about $844,000 -- to open more offices. The House had rejected a similar proposal when it reviewed the budget last week.

During the recession, 25 drivers' license bureaus were closed in 2002 and 2003 to save $800,000 dollars. There are currently 55 offices serving the state, an amount that DMV officials told the joint budget committee was sufficient but not ideal
