Stalled shuttles remain strong marketing tool

The free rides up and down the 16th Street pedestrian mall are seen as a model for downtown revitalization.

The nationally acclaimed 16th Street Mall shuttle is a vital service for downtown workers, companies, residents and visitors, but Denver business and civic leaders aren't calling for its privatization in the wake of this week's transit strike.


"This is the number one pedestrian-transit mall in the country," Door said. "The shuttle does an amazing job of moving people up and down the mall. It's very important to us."
