Spoilers - 'Session 9'

So, yes, it was a Josh Lucas weekend. Session 9 was ok. My buddies James and Dave liked it, so I figured I might, as well. It sets itself up as a ghost story, you think, because it takes place at an abandoned mental hospital.
The plot meanders and goes on tangents. You see 'Mike' get obsessed with tapes of sessions with this girl who had multiple personality disorder. There's hints that Gordon is a wife beater. And you see David Caruso's character just be an ass.

Eventually the movie morphs in to the character's being killed, and us as a viewer, trying to figure out who's doing it. Is it a ghost from the hospital, or is it one of the crew? Finally as we get to the end, we realize that it is Gordon, and he has gone psycho, supposedly with the same voice in his head [Simon], as the girl on the tapes.

It was ok, but I just feel it didn't make its point strongly enough. Funnily enough, one the DVD extras, they show a deleted sub-plot of a homeless woman who lived at the hospital. I think they should have kept it in, it would have made it more interesting.

Josh Lucas reminded me of 'Earl' in this movie with dark hair and lambchops.
