Blogging The MTV Movie Awards

Wasn't planning on it, but it's still on. The 'King Kong' parody was great. Who knew Jessica Alba could do comedy. This show is turning out to be a great showcase for her.

8:15 - Christina looks good, now that she's not all 'Dirrrty'. She has one hell of a voice. Maybe she'll fill the void Whitney left.

8:24 - NASCAR dudes: 'Loreal Paris. Because you're worth it. Jose's Thongs For Men'. Nice.

8:25 - Yay. Steve Carrel won for '40 Year Old Virgin'. Again, I am surprised, I liked that movie.

8:30 - Spike Lee gets the 'Silver Popcorn' for 'Do The Right Thing'. I agree. It is a modern classic. That was one movie that after I saw it, I was conflicted and didn't know what to feel. Movies should provoke you like that.

8:39 - Keanu and Sandra Bullock, blegh. Plugs for your movie should be banned from awards show.

8:52 - What the hell is up with the stage? If I was one of the people in the area by the video screens, I would be upset looking at the back of presenters. Well, except for Jake and Matt Dillon.

8:53 - Yikes! 'Hostel' looks brutal. It's in my Netflix queue.

8:55 - 'Emily Rose' chick won. Might have to check it out, looks...not bad.

8:56 - Will Ferrel making a Judi Dench joke? I doubt the MTV demo knows who she is.

8:58 - Jim Carrey is kind of under-rated. 'Pills are good, pills... are... good'.

9:00 - I like that Carrey came out with 'A Flock Of Angels'

9:02 - Will Ferrel looked like he was showing some package in his slacks. Yeech.

9:03 - 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door'. Funny.

9:04 - 'You're not Karen' [Taco Bell commercial]. Funny, because I know people have stole my lunch from the 'fridge at work.

9:09 - Some MTVU video award. They have it at my school. But never saw the clip that won.

9:10 - HOLY MOLEY! 'Snakes On A Plane'! Yay! God and the Internets love me!!!!!!!

9:11 - 'Sin City' was visually stunning.

9:12 - The only movie I haven't seen, won. Blegh.

Final note: I have new respect for Jessica Alba.

Wait a minute, Falor Flav was in a 'Saw' parody? Thank god it's MTV and I will be able to see it 50 times over the next three days.

And of course it's starting over right now. 'Wolfmother' who? This reminds me of when MTV tried to make Bif Naked happen. ['Stop trying to make 'fetch' happen'].

8:43 - Jessica Simpson and Dane Cook - 'Rock your balls off'? 'Taint'? Wow, MTV censors are letting a lot of stuff make it to air. Like the earlier joke with Eva Mendez and Justin Timberlake, [who better get a project out soon, because he is becoming a joke -- and that's coming from a previous JT fan] about Jake and Heath getting 'ranch hand jobs'.

8:44 - AFI on MTV? Their hipster fan base is going to love that.
