So much for Doctor/Patient privilege

Went to a doctor's appointment today and while waiting in the little exam room, I could totally hear the conversation in the next room.

It was an older lady, with a bad back and some leg issue. Seems she was trying to convince her doctor that she was not addicted to Oxycontin. She says someone in her family was stealing it from her. She also said she would prefer not to take Oxy, but that at times, it is the only thing that helps her deal with her pain.



The doctor didn't seem convinced. He caved in and said he would give her a refill of Oxy, but that he is going to monitor her usage.

Makes me less willing to go in to gory details with my doc, in any form of a loud voice. Yeesh.
