You can't eat it afterwards because the shooter isn't FDA approved, like all things which touch food are.
(note: my brother bought me one of these as a novelty xmas present)
You can't eat them because the "marshmallows" that come with it are soft, round, bright red plastic balls.
It's a pretty crappy toy in all honesty, and doesn't even work particularly well (jams up every couple of shots).
