Student arrested for murder

'DOUGLAS COUNTY - An 18-year-old student was arrested over the weekend for a murder that happened in late 2006.

Addie Kubisiak, from Parker, was booked into the Douglas County Detention Facility on charges of first-degree murder on Sunday.

Kubisiak, a student at Western State College, was arrested in Gunnison and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office is working with Gunnison Police.

Kubisiak's arrest came after a search warrant was served on the Western State campus on Saturday. Apparently, investigators found some evidence in a dorm room.

A student told 9NEWS' partners at The Denver Post that authorities removed a body from the dorms on Saturday.

Kubisiak is a student at Western State College in Gunnison and attended Ponderosa High School last year. While at Ponderosa, she played softball and swam with the Lady Mustangs.'

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is not releasing any additional details on the investigation, including the identity of the victim.
