If they are so dear to him....
what's he doing leaving them in his truck?
Truck is trashed, but man gets back what he most wanted
'DENVER - It was the call Bob Garcia hoped for but never thought he'd receive. His dream truck was stolen but it was what was inside it that Garcia desperately wanted back.
"I thought for absolutely certain I wasn't going to get anything back, I thought whatever they did with the truck, they chopped it, they burned it, whatever, I thought I wasn't going to see it. I just wanted those pictures back," he said.
Garcia's truck was stolen from a public parking lot near the Pepsi Center on Thursday night while he was at the Nuggets game.
The silver Ford F 350 had a flashy finish and custom rims.
"Most important, was the pictures inside. All I want are those pictures," said Garcia.
They were pictures of his three children killed in a plane crash in July of 2003. Their grandfather was flying them back from Utah to Colorado to celebrate his oldest daughter's birthday.
"The pictures are of them from the time they were born all through life," said Garcia.
Brianna was 10, Bobbie only 6 and the youngest, Hunter, was 5.
"I can buy another truck, I can't buy those pictures," said Garcia.
Police found the truck on Sunday. It had been dumped in a ditch near 40th and Tower Road.
"It was thrashed, it was sitting on its hubs, no wheels, no tires, windows down. Everything of value was out of it pretty much. The only thing left in the truck was what is most valuable to me. Those pictures are priceless," he said.
Garcia says he doesn't care that his truck is ruined, he's just grateful to have the memories of his children back.
"When I got the pictures back it was a relief - so much weight lifted off my shoulders," he said.'
