What's with all the babies in the news lately?

First you got that lady who sold her baby for a car. Then the chick using hers as a baseball bat. And now this. Colorado Springs sure has some nutters in it.

Man accused of murder in apartment fire threatened to 'grill baby'

'In the affidavit, Derrick Johnson is referred to as “Nicky.” A friend of his ex-girlfriend, Najua Bell-Jackson, says the night before the fire and the morning of the fire Bell-Jackson received “numerous telephone calls and text messages from her former boyfriend and the father of her baby.”

Stephanie Dorman says Nicky was upset at Bell-Jackson for leaving and he made threats against her and to the 6-month-old baby.

Dorman told police he was threatening to kill Bell-Jackson and her baby and “further made threats to ‘blow up’ the apartments.”

In the affidavit, Dorman says Nicky stated he was going to kill the baby “by torturing it and then putting it on a barbecue grill and burning it.” She also says he said he was on his way over to the apartments to kill them both.

Dorman says she heard the comments over Bell-Jackson’s phone after the phone was put on speaker. She also read the text messages.

However, Bell-Jackson and her friends believed he would not follow through on the threats so they did not call police.

Another of Bell-Jackson’s friends, Vanessa Farris, told police the same information.'



The fire started at the apartments around 45 minutes after the last telephone call.'
