People are dumb.

In regards to the State overturning the ban on alcohol sales on Sunday:

'"We're going to have more DUIs on Sunday now. We're probably going to have more alcohol-related car accidents. We're going to have more hit and run accidents. We're probably going to have more college students and underage drinking as a result of this," said Rep. Larry Liston (R-Colorado Springs).'

He's from Colorado Springs.

Figures.

Wotta' buncha' wussies.

Those kids are going to be screwed when the grow up and realized not everyone plays fair or someone will come in and mediate things. Conflict is a part of life.

Springs school bans tag, citing conflicts

'COLORADO SPRINGS —An elementary school has banned tag on its playground after some children complained they were harassed or chased against their will.

"It causes a lot of conflict on the playground," said Cindy Fesgen, assistant principal of the Discovery Canyon Campus school.

Running games are still allowed as long as students don't chase each other, she said.

Fesgen said two parents complained to her about the ban but most parents and children didn't object.

In 2005, two elementary schools in the nearby Falcon School District did away with tag and similar games in favor of alternatives with less physical contact. School officials said the move encouraged more students to play games and helped reduce playground squabbles.'

Google it!

Burglars search Google to break into safe

'COLORADO SPRINGS (AP) - Two burglars had door keys, pass codes and combinations to help them break the safes at an indoor amusement center, but they had to turn to Google for help to steal their loot.

The burglary at Bigg City turned into a comedy of errors early June 10. No arrests have been made as of Monday.

First, the burglars, dressed in black and with their faces covered, tried to disable a security camera by repeatedly spraying it with WD-40, only to have the lubricant clean the lens. Then, the camera recorded the pair struggling for 75 minutes to open the safes, apparently not realizing how many times and in what directions they needed to turn the dials.

A check of a computer in the office shows a Google search for "how to open a safe" and "how to crack a safe." The burglars took about $12,000.'

What's with all the babies in the news lately?

First you got that lady who sold her baby for a car. Then the chick using hers as a baseball bat. And now this. Colorado Springs sure has some nutters in it.

Man accused of murder in apartment fire threatened to 'grill baby'

'In the affidavit, Derrick Johnson is referred to as “Nicky.” A friend of his ex-girlfriend, Najua Bell-Jackson, says the night before the fire and the morning of the fire Bell-Jackson received “numerous telephone calls and text messages from her former boyfriend and the father of her baby.”

Stephanie Dorman says Nicky was upset at Bell-Jackson for leaving and he made threats against her and to the 6-month-old baby.

Dorman told police he was threatening to kill Bell-Jackson and her baby and “further made threats to ‘blow up’ the apartments.”

In the affidavit, Dorman says Nicky stated he was going to kill the baby “by torturing it and then putting it on a barbecue grill and burning it.” She also says he said he was on his way over to the apartments to kill them both.

Dorman says she heard the comments over Bell-Jackson’s phone after the phone was put on speaker. She also read the text messages.

However, Bell-Jackson and her friends believed he would not follow through on the threats so they did not call police.

Another of Bell-Jackson’s friends, Vanessa Farris, told police the same information.'

The fire started at the apartments around 45 minutes after the last telephone call.'
