Man leaves truck running; suspects drive it away

'WHEAT RIDGE – Police released surveillance images of two people accused of driving away in a man's truck after he left it running at a gas station on March 30.

Wheat Ridge Police say the incident occurred at the Shell gas station at 4885 Kipling Street shortly after 1 p.m.

A 21-year-old man stopped at the station to fill up his 2003 Ford F-250 with gas. When he went inside the gas station to make a purchase, the suspects drove off in his truck, police say.

Authorities say one of the suspects is a white man in his early 20s with short shaved blond hair, last seen wearing a tan shirt and a dark hooded sweat shirt.

Police say the second suspect is a black woman last seen wearing blue shorts, a dark jacket, white shoes and a dark bandana in her hair.

Authorities say the two suspects were seen on video surveillance walking in and out of the gas station from about 12:30 p.m. to 1:05 p.m.

Police say in the surveillance video, the suspects appeared to watch the victim and once he entered the store, they ran across the parking lot to the truck and drove away.'
