Update: That Darn Cat a.k.a. Freddy Got Fingered
Cat still in wall, could be coming out soon
'WHEAT RIDGE – The cat who will not come out of the wall has still not left his hiding place, but the people trying to get him out believe they now have a plan that will work.
Tonya Payne has tried dozens of ways to get Freddy out of the wall.
Last week, the home's lone human occupant left. When Payne went inside she found her house had been trashed. The carpet was ruined. The walls were filled with cracks and holes.
And there was Freddy, a scared cat who refuses to leave the inner-workings of the tub.
Payne has tried cat nip, traps and even trapdoors to keep Freddy from returning to the hole after he comes out at night to get the food she leaves out for him.
Last week, she put a plexiglass door over the hole that Freddy was not supposed to be able to open once he got out.
However, he managed to get back inside.
They have added industrial strength magnets to three different types of trapdoors to keep them shut after Freddy gets out, but that has not worked.
An Ace Hardware clerk even came to the house and rigged a trapdoor.
A Chinese acupuncturist also came in and burned cayenne pepper, which sent the six people inside the house at the time running out, but not the cat.
They have sprayed canned air into the hole and filled the bathtub with cold water, because cats do not like to be cold.
Payne says they have used every brand of tuna fish and even wired a KFC chicken wing inside a trap, but the cat did not touch it.
However, Monday night, Payne was feeling confident. An engineer who lives across the street has built a new trapdoor. The engineer and his wife hope to adopt Freddy when he finally comes out.
Payne runs Mouthfuls, a store for pets, in Denver. Should you have an idea of how to get the cat out you can e-mail her through her business at mouthfuls@worldnet.att.net.'
