I'd be pissed.

The building in the background is a condo project called The Beauvallon.

It had units that sold from the 300 to 500+k's a few years back.

While ths design is far superior to the other projects by this developer, I have always thought the execution was cheap.

On the front of the building, there is this big-ass ugly exhaust vent that is off-center.

They could have tried to put it in the middle for at least some aesthetic balance, but no.

Instead they smacked these metal scroll fenestrations over the main facade.

[I'll have to update this post with a picture of this later.]

Also, the faux-French style, was crafted out of that architectural styrofoam stuff.

Though the project was just finished a few years ago, the southern end of the building already has deterioation of the styrofoam.

So over the last few weeks, workers have erected scaffolding to try and fix all the problems with the exterior.

What sucks is with the sheath wrapped over the building, it blocks any and all views.

Plus I have seen workers coming in and out of individual units.

This is week four or five of this project!

Can you imagine have dropped all that money on a unit, only to have it wonk out in just a short period?

Plus, I have heard the workers banging away as early as 8:30 AM.

So not only do you have no view, you also have grungy workers traipsing in and out of your place, and construction noise six days a week [I saw them at work on a Saturday a bit ago.]

Yah, I'd be pissed.

Sweet

Screw That

I don't know if it's due to getting older, or all of the blows to the head I have taken, but I can no longer do heights.

Even looking at that pic of her looking down at the glass floor gives me vertigo.

Spinning skyscraper planned for Dubai

'New York — An Italian architect said he is poised to start construction on a new skyscraper in Dubai that will be "the world's first building in motion," an 80-story tower with revolving floors that give it an ever-shifting shape.'

I miss the Cooper theater.

The Cooper was this huge theater that had a round screen.

It was designed all 1960's Futuro.

I saw a bunch of great movies there as well like Fantasia, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Wars, Alien, Raiders Of The Lost Ark and many more.

The Cooper even had little smoking lounges off to the sides where you could smoke and still watch the movie.

And a HUGE balcony.

Now we just have those crappy mega-plexes.
