Scenes From Public Transport

This is a pic of the guy in a power scooter who rumbled and tumbled down the stopped escalator [scooter and all].

I don't know if he wasn't paying attention or what, but how could one be that dumb to try and use their scooter on the escalator?

There's an elevator at the station for the handicapped.

I guess it happens quite frequently.

I was purchasing smokes at the newsstand and the lady working there says she sees people fall down the escalator all the time.

Note: I was not helping the guy back up because the security guard and maintenance worker were already assisting.

He wasn't bleeding or anything, but looked disoriented.

Scenes From Public Transport

Morning Leg:

This guy was checking me out.

Little did he know I was so blatantly taking his picture.

He was kinda cute, but kinda young.

And the coat was hideous.

Pensive Construction Worker

Dude's in need of some serious conditioner.

He had major bed-head frizzies.

Night - First Leg:

I finally got a good pic of Whitley's hat!

Some random Hispanic couple.

She was rockin' a serious Mexi-Mullet/Farrah 'do.

She, too, needs conditioner, or some type of product.

Night - Second Leg:

Beard Guy, and some random chick whose outfit color combo made me think of Cordial Cherries.

She was wearing a chocolate brown coat and a pink-cherry beanie.

Speaking of Beard Guy, I now know that he's married, and likes to play Solitaire on his Crackberry.

More deets to follow.

It was a quiet night on the 2.

I'm not the only one...

Scenes From Public Transport

Morning Leg:

This is the lovingly bleak concrete and terra-cotta holding pen that is known as Market Street Station.

It's quite the sight when you are half-awake, hating life, and longing for the caffeine to kick in.

Departure.

I hear they're opening a Starbucks inside of this Starbucks.

Night - First Leg

Tunnel under the interstate.

I like how the lights from passing cars and trucks streak.

Alternate shot.

The Librarian.

I have regaled myself to the fact that I will probably never get a non-wobbly shot of her.

No book today.

'Bye Librarian Lady!

This left me with what appeared to be a common street thug, but was actually just an older gentleman with a penchant for Raiders gear.

Purple Nurples!

I hate this chick.

It's this morbidly overweight woman who walks around with one of those walkers that also doubles as a chair.

It's candy apple red no-less.

I hate her because once I was running late and needed to know if the '2' had come by yet.

So I ask her 'Excuse me, has the 2 come by yet?'

[Dead silence.]

I ask again, 'Has the 2 already come by?'

Again dead silence, but this time she acknowledges my presence, but just stares at me blankly with a look like I was some magical unicorn that suddenly appeared with a smurf on my back.

'Hel-loooo. Has the 2 come by yet' I ask, now perturbed.

Again, she continues to look at me without making a word or any sense of effort to.

'Bitch', I think to myself.

So I go and ask someone else.

Seconds later, when the '1' comes by, and suddenly she turns in to Chatty Kathy and begins some lively banter with the driver.

This proved she wasn't a deaf mute.

'F'n bitch' I mutter under my breath.

To this day, the sight of her irks my soul.

[The 2 hadn't come, by the way...score!]

Night- Second Leg:

Whua?

I didn't know Darth Vader was a patron of Public Transport.

Hmmm, learn something new each day.

Oops.

Random shot.

I love these shoes though.

Even though I swore I would never buy a pair of Sketchers again.

The last pair I had, had a nail come through the inside of the shoe.

Had the bus to myself for quite a while until this guy boarded.

My first thought:

'Man is he pink!'

Seriously, his skin is so fair and light, it looks like he can get a sunburn just by opening the refrigerator.

I gave him a 4.

Why does the back of the bus always have to be so ghetto?

Someone tagged this window by scraping their handle in the glass.

I couldn't help but see a figure in the tag.

Kind of reminds me of Buffalo Void's avatar.

What's that!?

It's Pat!

Also known as 'Man Woman'.

I am 90% sure that this person is transgendered.

Either that or a really feminine looking dude.

Or a boyish chick with a facial hair problem.

She/he gets off on my stop so once warmer weather comes along, I should be able to identify which is the case.

The night the lights went out in Georgia.

Randomly, lights on half of the bus went off.

It gave me a different view of Pasty Pink Boy.

Pat shuffling off home.

Scenes From Public Transport

First Leg:

This douchebag was making a panhandling sign with a stinky, noxious marker.

Believe you me, he looked far from homeless or needy.

He had Starb*cks and a cell.

This lady we'll call 'Whitley' as she's an African American woman who likes to dress as if she is in The South.

Whitley loves her black hat with the gold cord trim.

I have not once seen her sans hat.

I used to think she was rather nattily dressed, until I noticed her shoes.

They are totally falling apart.

That kind of tainted my image of her.

Also, she acts like a prima donna and often forces other patrons to wait for her to get her Southern arse out of her seat and out the door.

Trying to get a better shot of Whitley's hat [damn bumpy rides].

Close, but no cigar.

Final attempt.

This is one of the other regulars.

Nothing really makes her stand out like Whitley, except she appears kind of nerdy and bookish.

We'll call her 'The Librarian'.

She, too, is an older African American woman.

She's a fan of paperback fiction novels, although I have noticed none of them have been bodice-ripping rom novs.

The Librarian in motion.

This was a spur of the moment shot in where I wanted to see how the camera's low resolution would capture the light.

I like how it's low quality distorts the shot and produces unknown results.

Kind of like those people who are fanboys of taking shots with toy cameras.

Shot two with passerby included.

Second Leg:

Where is everyone?

Score!

Sigh, it wasn't a solo passage home for me.

First up, mid 30's guy with a horrid 80's leather jacket [the bottom of the jacket had cinched pleats].

He was a conundrum.

He kind of had a hipster/metrosexual vibe going, but it was a failed attempt.

He was wearing beaded hoop earrings for chrissakes!

B for effort and D for execution.

The only other patron of public transport is the guy towards the front with the blond/grey hair.

I have seen him before.

He carries himself as if he is carrying the weight of the world on his wizened frame, even though he can't be any older than mid-40's.

Maybe it's all that crap he carries around with him.
