Ha.

'I once came within about 10 feet of hitting a balloon at 10,000 feet AGL.

The balloon was a child's balloon in the shape of a clown's head. The pressure differential at 10,000 feet caused it to expand into what appeared to be a grotesque, deformed mutant clown writhing in agony.

Convinced I was either suffering from the effects of hypoxia or witnessing the ascent of one of Satan's horrible minions from the depths of hell and into the heavens above, I headed back to the airport and sat down for a while.'

Woman injured in sex toy mishap

'LEXINGTON PARK, Md. - A Southern Maryland woman was seriously injured in a mishap involving a sex toy over the weekend. The case was first reported on BayNet.com, and Saint Mary's County Public Safety sources confirmed the information to WUSA in Washington, D.C.

The accident was reported to local fire and rescue personnel about 1:30 a.m. on March 7, from an address on Rogers Drive. The man who made the 911 call said he had placed a sex toy over a saber saw blade, and then used the power tool on his partner, but the blade cut through the plastic and injured the woman.

The victim, a 27-year-old woman, was reportedly injured and bleeding. She was later flown to Prince George's hospital center by Maryland State Police helicopter.

County law enforcement officials who were familiar with the media report about this case said, although they were not initially called to investigate the incident, they would likely follow up to determine it was just an accident and involved consensual behavior.'

Cow knocks over woman on bike, steps on her legs

'BOULDER (AP) - A woman has escaped serious injury and has refused medical treatment after a cow knocked the woman down and walked on her legs in Boulder.

Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks ranger Pete Taylor says the woman was riding her bicycle along the South Boulder Creek Trail on Monday when she encountered the cow and stopped to let the animal cross.

Instead, the cow knocked the woman over and stepped on her legs.

Taylor says the woman wasn't seriously hurt. Her name was not released.

The cow had left the area by the time rangers arrived, but other people warned fellow bikers and hikers on the trail about the animal.

Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance vice president Jason Vogel called the incident "odd, rare and random."'

Koala survives 60-mph impact, 7 miles in grille

Marsupial bounces back from shock after he's cut from front of vehicle

'CANBERRA, Australia - A koala that cheated death after being hit by a car at about 60 mph and dragged with his head jammed through the vehicle grille for about 7 miles is being dubbed Australia's luckiest marsupial.

The eight-year-old male koala, named "Ely 'Lucky' Grills" by rescuers, was struck by an unwitting motorist north of Brisbane and found only when the car stopped after being flagged down by another vehicle.

"To have him survive and virtually unscathed is quite miraculous," Australian Wildlife Hospital spokeswoman Carolyn Beaton told Reuters on Tuesday.

"Lucky" hung on during his ordeal with one arm and his trapped head, and was freed with household scissors used like a fireman's "jaws-of-life" to cut around the car's mesh grille with the horrified owner's permission, Beaton said.

"Whilst Lucky was in shock, he quickly recovered and was nearly better after a couple of hours rest and a feed," she said.

Lucky will stay at the hospital, set up by the late television wildlife and crocodile crusader Steve Irwin, for 45 days to recover from his experience and receive treatment for a chlamydial infection.'
