Yah, it is probably true

Parents don't want to think that their kids could not be perfect. Reminds me of this show 'Confrontation' I saw over the weekend. It's where criminals, and their victims [or family of the victim] confront each other. The one I saw was of a mom and the guy who shot her son. When the criminal guy told the mom the shooting involved drugs and money, the mom couldn't believe it. She said her son must have been leading a double life.

Gomez's family says Jesse was a prankster and always pushed the envelope. His posting on the web, they say, is not serious.'
