Round 4?

High winds pummel foothills

Hurricane-force winds hit portions of Colorado Sunday night and early this morning, drifting snow and causing numerous road closures for commuters.

The National Weather Service's Wind Technology Center clocked winds at a whopping 115 mph early this morning in Eldorado Canyon south of Boulder. Hurricane-force winds begin at 88 mph.

The City of Boulder reported a downed tree lying across Broadway between Pine and Mapleton streets. Broadway was expected to be closed for several hours, according to police.

The wind warnings are in effect until 5 p.m. tonight. Forecasts call for sunshine and generally warm temperatures in the metro area today and Tuesday. A significant winter storm is threatening to arrive by Thursday or Friday.
