Whoa
Yesterday while doing laundry, I came across an old t-shirt for Pride that we had to wear when I worked at Tracks. With Pride 2007 being in two weeks, I had a total flashback.
Crazy, good times.
I honestly didn't sleep, except for disco naps, for like a week.
Anywho, so I look at the shirt and it's dated 1997[!].
Ten years?
You got to be kidding me that so much time has flown by.
1997 was a turning point for me. Not only was I attending what I call my 'second gay high school' by working at Tracks, via one of my regulars, I got my position at The Corporation.
Man, how things have changed.
Back then I was just coming off living two months in Austin, jobless, and homeless.
Now, I am one of the long termiest people in my department, a property owner, and eeek!, even have a modest savings.
It is kind of like what Ferris Bueller says about not stopping to take a look around every once in a while, your life will pass you by.
Luckily enough, that has been my mantra, and I have many Ferris experiences to back it up.

Seriously. The past ten years have FLOWN by for me.
Pride 1997 was the first one I'd ever been to. One month after I moved out of my parent's house in Texas to be on my own in Colorado. I can't believe that was 10 years ago. I asked someone what clubs to go to and they said Tracks... but they didn't tell me not to go on Friday night. 1st time I went I was scared that all their were in Denver were lesbians!!
