Judge: CU freshman accused of naked sex assault allowed home

'BOULDER (AP) - A University of Colorado freshman accused of sexually assaulting a woman after taking LSD and running across campus naked is allowed to return to his home state of Texas because he can no longer attend classes, a judge has ruled.

Chandler Ross Wyatt, 18, was formally charged Tuesday with felony counts of unlawful sexual contact with force, drug use and drug possession, and misdemeanor counts of assault, indecent exposure and resisting arrest.

If convicted, he could face up to six years in prison on the most serious charge and would have to register as a sex offender.

Wyatt and his parents declined to comment after his court hearing Tuesday.

Police reports said that on Sept. 27, Wyatt and a friend took LSD and decided to take their clothes off. Wyatt then ran outside and to a dorm, where he was arrested.

A resident told police she let him in because she thought he had locked himself out, according to police reports. The man sexually assaulted her before several men in the dorm intervened, police said.

Wyatt was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Nov. 21.'
