So Qwest was mentioned on the Bill Maher show, and there has been a lot of press on Qwest not complying with the NSA wiretapping thing. This is the website that went online last Thursday after the story broke.
I read in the Denver Post, that it wasn't necessarily an altruistic thing of Nacchio to do. It was more of a way of protecting Qwest from getting slapped with civil lawsuits.
At least it is giving Qwest good press.
Say Thanks to Qwest!
'It's not often these days that we have occasion to laud corporate behavior, but the stance taken by the telecom Qwest in resisting the Bush Administration's covert program to ensnare every single American citizen in a vast web of telephone surveillance deserves our thanks.'

'Nacchio, however, may not have exactly acted out of civic altruism, said Posner. It's not clear whether the companies that provided the information to the NSA are exempt from civil lawsuits. Perhaps Qwest's legal team realized this and pushed Nacchio to say no to the NSA.'
