Chewing Gum Kills

Teen charged with murdering twin in quarrel over chewing gum

COLUMBIA, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities in Tennessee say a spat over chewing gum ended with a 14-year-old boy stabbing his twin brother to death.

He's now charged with first-degree murder.

The sheriff's office in Maury County says the twins were arguing when one grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed his brother in the chest.

The sheriff says the surviving teen is very remorseful.

The principal at the boys' middle school says it will be "a hard life lesson" and "a long healing process" for their classmates.
