So I'm standing in line at the local convenience store, waiting to pay for my goods, when I look up and notice what appears to be a brown rag on top of the cigarette display.

'Wait a minute, that looks like blood,' I think to myself.

I am looking at it from a weird angle, so it takes me a while to figure out that it is blood on some kind of rag.

'But what's that weird bulge thing?'

Turns out, it was a plastic severed arm.

'WTF!? Why would someone decorate with a severed arm?'

And then it finally hits me, duh, it's October/Halloween.

Then I began thinking how if I worked there, I would leave it up all year round just to see if anyone notices or says anything.
